Here is an announcement from Dialogic.  Obviously there have been production cost increases for hardware over several years.  This is one more reason to migrate to Fax over IP and Cloud fax solutions, and a continuation of reducing total cost of ownership and virtualization.

Thank you,  Scott Riley, One Touch Global technologies, Inc. www.otgt.com

Here is the message I received a few minutes ago:
During the last decade, we’ve witnessed a rapid transition from TDM networks to next generation IP-based solutions. Throughout this transition, Dialogic has never lost sight of the customers for our TDM products, or the often sizeable investments they have made in their heritage networks which feature Dialogic products at their core.  But this transition has also brought with it increases in costs to Dialogic, including higher component and fuel costs in general as well as higher costs specifically associated with the manufacturing of these products in decreasing volume.

In appreciation for the loyalty of our TDM customers, and in recognition of the challenges they too were often facing, Dialogic has avoided passing along these added costs in the form of general price increases, choosing instead to absorb the costs for several years.  However, it is no longer feasible for us to do so entirely on our own, and with that Dialogic is hereby announcing a modest price increase for several TDM product lines, effective May 15, 2013.  Rest assured that every effort has been made to minimize these increases.

The price changes for the affected products will be reflected in the price list available on April 15, 2013, and are summarized below.  Should you have any questions in general, or regarding whether a particular product is or is not affected, please contact your Dialogic sales representative.  Thank you for your understanding and loyalty.

Brooktrout TR1034 boards and accessories will increase in price by 5%.  The TR1034 boards continue to offer our customers unmatched product quality and stability, broad interoperability, and innovation, and provide investment protection should your needs dictate a move to IP networks.

Brooktrout TruFax boards will increase in price by 10%. TruFax intelligent fax boards continue to offer small business and departmental workgroups network fax capabilities with enterprise-level quality and performance, all at an affordable price.

Media and Network Interface Boards, as well as DSI and TX Signaling and SS7 components, will increase in price by 8%.  This portfolio of boards allows for continued investment protection in TDM networks.

DSI SS7G41 Signaling Servers will increase in price by $1500 (US) per unit.   These servers offer a high throughput of signaling traffic by offloading signal processing from application servers.
